MIGUEL MENA

Miguel Mena was born in Manzanares (Ciudad Real, Spain) in 1959. He obtained his Licenciatura en Química in 1982 at the University of Alcalá and his PhD in 1988 with Prof. Pascual Royo ant the late Prof. Ricardo Serrano, when he started research in organometallic chemistry.

He was awarded with an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship at the Institut für Organische Chemie der Universität Würzburg (Germany)) with Prof. Gerhard Erker (1988-89) researching metallaoxiranes as Fischer-Tropsch systems.

He subsequently joined the Inorganic Chemistry Department at the University of Alcalá where he has been Professor since 1992. His current research interests include organometallic chemistry and materials containing metal centers linked by imido, nitrido, oxido, sulfido and hydrido moieties with polymetallic cooperative effects.
